A Kansas doctor is being accused of unlawfully prescribing Cephalon's Actiq painkiller among other drugs. The medical malpractice case says that these prescriptions led to the fatal overdoses of 56 patients. Stephen Schneider is being sued for various matters and reportedly gave his assistants pre-signed prescription pads. Many other patients went to the hospital for overdoses he prescribed, but survived.
